A modern holiday house in the small town of Vilapol, Spain

Located near the small town of Vilapol, in the Lugo region of Spain, the modern holiday house curiously shaped and displaying a dynamic floor plan was designed by Padilla Nicás Arquitectos.
 Spreading over 225 square meters on a triangular plot of land, the eye-catching modern holiday house uses its raised location to give owners the best possible natural panoramas.
Inspired by the land, following its sinuous lines, the architecture proposes a bold contemporary shape clearly visible from afar. Overlooking the ocean’s horizon, the modern holiday house caters to its family’s needs and desires. In the meantime, it follows the shape and elevation of the land, blending in the landscape beautifully.

Boasting an elevated floor-plan in photos by Jose Hevia, the modern holiday house brings peace and tranquility. The family can relax as the rural landscape unfolds through framed windows.  Encouraged by the peaceful coastal landscape, family members and their holiday guests will feel free roaming the open floor plan and feel intensively connected to the outdoors. Amazing bright and dynamical flat by architect Richard Guilbault

This flat is transformed by architect Richard Guilbault from a very dark rooms difficult to fit out.
The flat spread out 30 square-meter and was redesign as the requirement of a young couple about a dynamical and bright living room, to optimize the use of the private rooms and to maximize the possibility of storage space. With the new space organization, the living room takes up 2/3 of the living surface area (instead of 1/3 before) and enjoys the light coming from the four windows of the flat.

The bathroom is comfortable and takes up only 2,3 square meters. Discreet and intimate, the new sleeping space hides a voluminous storage chest. The bed makes an atypical and comfortable space, like a cabin. A wall of storage runs along the complete length of the flat.There is punctuated by four niches and a game of contrasts between white and birch plywood front panels. This multipurpose piece of furniture, the backbone of the flat, absorbs all the practical needs of the apartment: electric panel, storage, appliances, pantry, fridge, wine cellar, TV, dressing room and so forth. The apparent connections of the former walls have been highlighted by a white concrete filling to tell the history of the flat.
